A weekend diary to Kasauli, Himachal.

If you want to spend your weekend far away from noisy and polluted life of city, somewhere lap of nature, Kasauli is a place to be.

Kasauli is cantonment and town, located in Solan district in the Indian State of Himachal Pradesh.
The cantonment was established by Britishers in 1842 as a colonial hill station, 77kms from Shimla and 288kms for  Delhi via nh1. The town is a health resort, having an elevation of 1,900mts above sea level.

HOW TO REACH:

The nearest airport is in Chandigarh, 70kms before Kasauli. From Chandigarh there are plenty of flights available to Srinagar, Delhi and Kolkata.

Kasauli is also well connected with roads and railways. The nearest railway station is Kalka and is well connected with Delhi , Amritsar and Kolkata.

Roads conditions are pretty good. One can take a cab from Delhi or from Chandigarh.

Independence Day Ride...

Wanderers: Bulleteers of Delhi a Royal Enfield club celebrated Independence Day in their own way. It was a small ride to Rao Dhaba which is located at Delhi-Jaipur highway and is famous for its yummilicious non-veg and veg Indian cuisine; one thing you must try here is paneer butter masala with tandoori naan.
